<\/u>At times, Tresna (Dr. Datta and staff) may request to speak with your other providers, your pharmacy, or-in certain cases-a family member, to better understand your background. These decisions are made thoughtfully and always with the goal of helping you feel seen, understood, and protected.<\/p>

We understand that it\u2019s natural to feel guarded-especially early on-but sometimes, vital information gets unintentionally left out. Our job is to gently gather the full truth so we can treat you with clarity and compassion. If needed, a customized confidentiality agreement can be arranged.<\/p>

EVALUATIONS, OBJECTIVITY & RESPECTFUL FEEDBACK
<\/u>When Dr. Datta is hired by an outside agency to conduct an evaluation, he is ethically bound to do so with clinical neutrality. These assessments are not therapeutic relationships, and we kindly ask that any disagreements with such evaluations be communicated respectfully and privately-not in the form of public reviews. Public complaints about objective evaluations may be considered defamatory and carry legal consequences.<\/p>

You are always welcome to reach out for clarification. Some individuals continue care after an evaluation; others do not. Either choice is respected.<\/p>

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE & BUPRENORPHINE TREATMENT AGREEMENT
<\/u>If you are prescribed a controlled substance (e.g., Adderall, Xanax, Suboxone), this comes with clear expectations and responsibilities. These medications carry powerful healing potential-but also risk. Our approach is structured, empathetic, and rooted in evidence-based care.<\/p>

You agree to:
– Attend all scheduled appointments on time
– Take medication only as prescribed
– Avoid mixing with alcohol, benzos, opioids, or street drugs
– Complete toxicology screens and bloodwork when requested
– Communicate honestly about any side effects, misuse, or safety concerns
– Never obtain prescriptions from other providers without full disclosure<\/p>

Dr. Datta checks the ISTOP\/PDMP database regularly to ensure patient safety. Misuse, dishonesty, or diversion may lead to a pause or end in treatment and in some cases, a required referral to a detox facility.<\/p>

These rules are not about punishment-they are about safety. Addiction is difficult, and we are here to support-not-enable your healing.<\/p>

PRIMARY MEDICAL DOCTOR REQUIREMENT
<\/u>If you\u2019re being prescribed controlled substances, you must have a Primary Medical Doctor (PMD) or equivalent with a DEA license. You must consent for Tresna (Dr. Datta and staff) to speak with that provider. If care begins via Telehealth, you must see your PMD in-person before your second session.<\/p>

This is not red tape. It\u2019s responsible medicine. You deserve continuity and coordination in your care.<\/p>

PLEASE DO NOT DOCTOR SHOP
<\/u>Attempting to obtain multiple prescriptions from multiple providers (including pharmacy-switching tactics) is dangerous and unethical. If we discover this behavior, treatment will be terminated, and in severe cases, a DEA report may be filed.<\/p>

This policy protects you-and protects us-from serious harm. If you ever feel tempted to bend these rules, let us know. We\u2019d rather work with you than against you.<\/p>

FLEXIBILITY, MINDFULNESS & ALTERNATIVE CARE
<\/u>We believe in treating the whole person-not just the diagnosis. That may include:
– Mindfulness and meditation practices
– EMDR or trauma-focused therapy
– Family or couples therapy
– Rehab or inpatient care when needed<\/p>

Treatment plans are personalized. Your openness to evolving modalities may increase your chances of deep, lasting healing.<\/p>

GRIEVANCES, COMMUNICATION & REVIEWS
<\/u>If you have a grievance or disagreement, you\u2019re invited to speak with Dr. Datta for free-a rare offering in today\u2019s healthcare world. Most clinics shield their directors behind layers of staff. This one doesn\u2019t. You can speak to the person in charge directly.<\/p>

This is a space for healing, not hostility. Before posting a negative review, we encourage you to engage in a dialogue. Let\u2019s talk. Let\u2019s try to understand each other.<\/p>

We live in a time where online hearsay can damage reputations without due process. This practice values accountability, empathy, and human dignity. False reviews or defamatory statements may be subject to legal response. But genuine concerns? We\u2019re here for those.<\/p>

PRACTICE POLICIES & COMMUNICATION ETIQUETTE
<\/u>– Texting: Dr. Datta is not an emergency psychiatrist and does not operate like an AA or NA sponsor. Texts are only used for logistical convenience and not for therapy. Responses may be delayed due to patient care.
– Documentation Fees: If additional letters or evaluations are needed (e.g., legal, disability, school), there may be a documentation fee, discussed upfront.
– Arriving Intoxicated: If you arrive intoxicated, you will be billed for the session but may be asked to leave. Medication sharing or misuse will result in termination.
– Couples\/Family Sessions: These are often longer and priced accordingly. Custom packages are available and discussed case-by-case.
– \u201cGhosting\u201d Your Doctor: If you stop attending sessions without notice-especially while on controlled substances-you will be discharged. Please communicate.<\/p>

PAYMENT, CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY
<\/u>– Payment is due before appointments. Your slot is confirmed only after payment.
– 48 hours\u2019 notice is required to cancel or reschedule, otherwise the full session fee applies.
– In the event of a no-show, and if your card is charged remotely, a 3.6% processing fee is added.
– We offer a generous grace period-but after multiple missed payments or sessions, treatment may be paused.<\/p>

COOKIES, TECHNOLOGY & THIRD-PARTY SITES

We call this a Farewell Clause, not a termination.<\/p>

If discharge is necessary, you will be given referrals. But please note: Some doctors may ask, \u201cWhy was the patient discharged?\u201d The story you bring with you can affect your next step. Let\u2019s do our best to end things with mutual respect.<\/p>
